We have objected to plans from the Well Place Manor Trust to build a private equestrian development in an unspoilt valley in the heart of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The site, at Skirmett in Bucks, has been the subject of many previous planning applications, most of which have been rejected by Wycombe District Council.

????????????????????????????????????

The proposed buildings are out of all proportion with the landscape of this unspoilt valley and will be an eyesore when seen from the many popular public paths in the area.  There are paths close to the site and paths further away, which offer long views—on which this development would be a severe blot.

The applicants pay little regard to public paths in their application, but they are vitally important as this area is much enjoyed by residents and visitors for quiet recreation.

The applicants’ traffic plan takes construction vehicles along the narrow Hambleden valley road, which also is much used by walkers, riders and cyclists.  They will be put at risk, and their enjoyment impaired, by the additional heavy traffic.

We consider this development to be the wrong thing in the wrong place and have urged Wycombe District Council to reject it.
