Meet the Open Spaces Society

Hello! We’re the Open Spaces Society. We’re Britain’s oldest conservation society and we’ve been protecting land across England and Wales since 1865.

The last few years have been difficult for everyone and, for many of us, spending time outdoors helped with our mental and physical health.

We campaign to make sure that as many people as possible can enjoy the benefits of the great outdoors.

We help local communities to save their treasured spaces, for now and future generations, and we protect public paths from obstruction and other abuse.

We’re a small but feisty organisation. We rely on our members to help spread the word about what we do.
