Candidates for election as trustees:
Richard Clarke
Richard Clarke is a keen rambler from Treorchy, where he lives with his wife, Linda, and their two rescue labradors. A
passionate access campaigner, Richard successfully led a 2025 campaign to remove obstructing gates from a local mountain forestry walk.
Working alongside the Open Spaces Society (OSS), he is currently progressing a Definitive Map Modification Order (DMMO) application, which the council is expected to grant subject to an inquiry.
After presenting at the 2025 AGM in London, Richard remains deeply committed to promoting the OSS, actively engaging with new Senedd members and the Welsh First Minister on the organisation's manifesto.
Tara-Jane Sutcliffe
A trustee since 2020, Tara is based in West Wales, where she serves on her Local Access Forum and as a Non-Executive Director of the West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre. In 2021 she joined the Council of the National Trust as the OSS appointed member and since 2022 has served on a UK Government (DEFRA) funding panel supporting biodiversity and climate resilience across the UK Overseas Territories. As a board member, she brings experience of leading several small- and medium-sized organisations in the charity and public sectors.
