James - Trustee resize
James Lean
James, who lives in Cambridge, joined the board of trustees in 2024; he is enthusiastic about maintaining access to open spaces for walking, running, and family time. His career is in banking and financial services with Barclays. As a regional director within the corporate bank, he has significant strategic experience with international blue-chip clients alongside national charities and housing associations. James started his career with investment bank JP Morgan and gained significant insight into e-commerce and online branding and promotion with FinTech WorldPay.
Andrew Trustee
Andrew Packman
Andrew lives in Buckinghamshire. He was a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers until he retired in 2023 and is a trustee of the London Handel Society. He is now working for a master’s in history at the Department of Continuing Education at Oxford University and is particularly interested in how the history of land use is reflected in current rights over common land. He is keen to defend the rights over commons and to ensure rights of way are open and usable.
Phil Wadey 2022
Phil Wadey
Phil is currently chairman of the OSS and member of the Legal and Finance committees. He joined the society in 2004 to support the work on greens, commons and rights of way. Phil specialises in rights of way historical research and enjoys adding paths to the definitive map through research or negotiation (44km (27 miles) recorded so far). He brings skills to the Board from running large projects and from extensive board-level work in a range of organisations, including the charitable sector.
