Rights of Way Training Courses – Restoring the Record

We deal with almost 1000 cases a year assisting communities, groups and individuals in protecting their local spaces and paths in all parts of England and Wales. Can you help us by joining as a member?

Following publication of the 2nd edition of their book, Rights of Way – Restoring the Record, our trustee, Phil Wadey, and his colleague Sarah Bucks will resume training on applying the methods in their book in October and November. The book and training aim to enthuse, enable and empower rights of way researchers to make definitive map modification order applications to ensure that routes that would be extinguished in 2026 are saved from the cut-off date.

Four training courses are presently planned as follows:

1. Yarmouth, Isle of Wight – Saturday 14 October 2017
2. Sturminster Marshall, Dorset – Sunday 15 October 2017
3. Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire – Saturday 18 November 2017
4. Bicester, Oxfordshire – Sunday 19 November 2017

1. Yarmouth, Isle of Wight – Saturday 14 October 2017

Details of the day:

Start: 09.30
Finish: 16.00 (approx depending on question and answer session)

Venue: The Community Hall of Yarmouth & District, St James Street, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight PO41 0NU
Visit CHOYD, Contact us, for a map and details of how to reach the venue. There is no parking at the hall but the large River Road car park is two minutes walk from the hall, off A3054 overlooking the Yar estuary.

Includes: Tea and coffee but please bring your own packed lunch.

There is no charge for this event but delegates will have to meet their own travel expenses. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Please bring a copy of Rights of Way – Restoring the Record with you if you have one and a laptop so you can take part in some practical activities. Wi-fi is available.

Copies of the 2nd edition of Rights of Way – Restoring the Record will be available to buy at a discounted rate for attendees on the day.
