TIM CROWTHER

Tim Crowther has lived in Weybridge, Surrey, since 1966.  Chairman, secretary and committee member of several groups concerned with ‘green’ issues, and particularly urban open spaces, over the years. Retired board secretary of government property agency. Elmbridge borough councillor since 1999, which provides plenty of opportunities for speaking out on local open space, common land and access matters.  Long distance walker – first back-packing on national trails and subsequently working out own routes (Weybridge to Weymouth for example). Listed as a ‘checker’ in the latest Time out book of country walks.  Concerned that in the prominence and publicity given to ‘ways’, many footpaths are being neglected and forgotten, resulting in a spiral of disuse. Married for over forty years with three sons, one daughter, and three grandchildren.
