Some members and others have been contacted by a former employee of the society regarding a complaint which he made to the Charity Commission about the general secretary’s appointment 23 years ago.  For the record, the Charity Commission has confirmed by letter dated 13 June 2007 to the chairman that, in the light of an assurance from the Open Spaces Society’s trustees regarding the employment, performance and accountability of the general secretary, the Charity Commission is content that this matter is now closed.
