The work fighting unwarranted fencing and de facto inclosure of commons carries on unabated. As a result of the judicial review of the Wisley case, Surrey and Hampshire County Councils and many of the Local Authorities are, at the instigation of and financing by English Nature, pressing ahead with their plans for section 194 fencing over 10,000 acres of local commons.  Surrey County Council continue to seek to divert or extinguish rights of way over public recreation commons so effectively reducing public access.
