Member of Open Spaces Society since 1962, and of its executive committee since 1982. Has also been member for long periods of committees of the Youth Hostels Association and other organisations. Retired chartered surveyor. Now acting as the society's Parliamentary agent for private legislation and examiner of public legislation and government documents. Actively concerned in planning and transport applications affecting, and threatened disposal of open spaces, particularly in London. Interested in local history and archives research.
